CINEMA SLAUGHTER — FRIEND TEST / SOURCE INSTRUCTIONS
Bubble Skull · development App ID 480 · protocol 4
Full-game phone friend test · 2026-10-15. All desktop players need this matching build.

Run the same full-edition build on each desktop with separate Steam accounts.
Keep Steam running. Steam may display Spacewar for this development App ID.
Windows: extract the complete package and run CinemaSlaughter.exe; keep its DLL
beside it. WebView2 is required. macOS: open Cinema Slaughter Playtest.app. Linux:
run cinema-slaughter with its Steam library beside it. Development packages are
unsigned; report OS warnings rather than disabling system protections.

DESKTOP JOINING
Host: Create Game > Private, then Invite and select a Steam friend.
Guest: accept that invitation, or Join Game > Steam Friends > select host > Join.
Public matches are available in Browse Public Games. Party leaders coordinate
travel; an online party contains at most four people including phone guests.
Do not copy or type Steam lobby IDs as phone room codes.
Guests ready up; at least three players are needed. Add Bot is manual.
Compare prompt, screening, vote, results and rematch on both desktops. Only each
player's own hand/ballot may appear on their private controls.

PHONE / BROWSER JOINING
Phone service: https://play.bubbleskull.net
This build includes temporary, revocable friend-test hosting access, valid for
30 days from October 15 (US Eastern). It does not verify Steam ownership.
Share only with your testers. Shipping builds will require verified ownership.
A connected host gets a four-digit code and matching QR/link.
Use Code, QR & share in the lobby. Scanning opens the room; enter a name to join.
For manual joining, open play.bubbleskull.net and enter those four digits.
Manage parties in the desktop game. Free phones join their sponsoring owner's
party code before travelling into public games; the whole party is at most four.
A private home game supports up to eight people with one desktop host.
Typing the code on that same service's phone page must reach the same room.
A localhost link is only a same-computer preview, not a scannable phone invite.
LAN links require the same network; the hosted HTTPS service works remotely.
Owner private controls use a separate pairing link and do not add a player seat.

RECONNECTING
A guest uses Rejoin Game to recover the same running seat. A disconnected host
has two minutes to reopen the app and Resume Game on the original device.
Explicitly closing a room ends it. Recovery requires retained local/service
state and an existing Steam lobby; see RECONNECT-AUDIT.txt for boundaries.

Automated relay and native transport checks pass. The hosted service supports
private controls and reconnects. Real multi-account Steam play, physical phones,
and host recovery across different computers still require your playtest.
Report OS, build, phase/reel and a screenshot; never send account credentials.
